2. Build Authority
The easiest way to attract an audience is by showing your expertise in the niche. There is a need to demonstrate how much you know to demand a following. People naturally follow those they trust.
An easy way to gain this is by creating niche-related content. If you have a blog or a social media account, use it to show your expertise. For example, if you are in a dog-related niche, you can write about the different characteristics of a dog. You can write about dog food and the components, or even organize dog shows with your community.
It is all about demonstrating how much you know to build and gain trust. Harness any medium at your disposal to give relevant information. You can use social media post, blog post, webinars, and even videos.
3. Study and Understand your Competitors
If you think that focusing on a niche market means there will be no competition; then you are wrong. There are competitors everywhere. We must agree that having competitors is not a bad idea. Rather, it is a way to bring out the best in you. If you ask me, a niche without competition might be signalling no demand.
Do a competitive analysis. It should be a part of your business plan. Take a critical look at your business environment. Itemize the players and arrange them in the other threat they pose to your business.
Take a critical look at each of them. Analyze the market by answering the following questions.
- Who are their specific target customers?
- What is their client report about them like?
- What is its strength?
- What is their weakness?
Once you can answer these questions, you can conveniently start mapping out your stand in your niche market.
Great post and advice as always my friend.
As always I find your articles very thought-inspiring and on point. This is an area I have been thinking about a great deal lately. I do think I need to study the competition some more and review what niche I am really in.
Thanks for these excellent pointers.
Best regards
