After a handful of informational screens, you will see the ChatGPT main screen, covering Examples, Capabilities and Limitations.

There will be a bar where you can enter your first query.

On the left is a small menu that includes an optional upgrade.

At the time of writing, the upgrade to ChatGPT Plus cost $20 per month.

I've heard enough to know that I need/want ChatGPT. But when I attempted to sign up, this is the first item I came into contact with.

"Log in with your OpenAI account to continue"

Is OpenA1 an additional account that we must have before we can sign up with ChatGPT?

No, OpenAI is the owner of ChatGPT. You must have clicked on something that indicated that you already have an account. Please check the training again.
