Bio

This is where you need to add a photo of yourself or something relevant to you, don’t just leave it blank as it shows to the rest of the community that you’re a newbie and not fully committed to your training. It takes seconds to add and doesn’t matter what it is, ideally your own portrait but it can be anything

Tell your community something about yourself, the idea behind this is to help people get to know you, what you’re about and what makes you tick, so if you just say “Hi I’m John, I’m from USA and it’s great to meet you all” These few words aren’t really compelling or interesting.

You could start by saying who you are, where you’re from and how you came across WA in the first place. A bit of background about you and what you want to achieve will go along way in the community here, it will also engage others in conversation with you.

Hi Dave -),

Thank so much for this valuable summary!!

I am planning to give this link to my referrals, if that's alright with you - well.. they are not around yet ,, but before long this will be a fact -).

I am still somewhat of a newbie here at WA, but getting more and more 'the hang' of it!

I have one comment referring to the advice of lesson 3 - I do welcome the newbies regularly, but I also go to my activity board to tell the fresh Premium 'Hello ' and 'Congrats' and so on. I must tell you, that these messages were far more productive.

Thanks for teaching me about the follows. I have not wanted to follow anyone unless I can connect personally, but I guess that would limit me and be quite unwieldy. Is there any way I can write a little note that would automatically attach to the row of ten or would I have to do each individually?

DavePage Premium
Individually I'm afraid, not everyone will follow you back anyway.
I've found it's a 3:1 ratio
Because I also have a Karatbars business I connect to as many people as I can. Go to your followers first and follow all of those back, that way you're a mutual follow.

How are you getting on?

Thanks for the tips.

The assistance offered and the lengths people are willing to go to help each other is amazing and inspiring. Its been a busy week so haven't had much time other than a few minutes here and there on a few lessons and snoop a bit in the chats but the more I see the better I feel about making this decision and look forward to the great things ahead.

I have been working on my website and I tried to create an amazon a shop. When I tried to link the shop to my website it said it failed. I'd appreciate your advice if you can spare the time. Website: http://makeincomeagoodoutcome.com

Follow everyone to expand your network, you never know who you might meet. Anyone who follows you back, read their profiles to see what they do. If you're a coder, you're already half way to success anyway

What is it that you don't do? Out of interest
Reply
Drgambrel Premium
Before I read this I was following a couple people daily. Haven't blogged any yet, only commented a few times and hadn't asked many questions either.
But now I go through that list of new or current members to follow like you said and saw my member rank drop as well. I still comment and answer questions as much as I can. I still haven't blogged just yet. I have been focusing on finalizing my website for now. I am sure that in the future after I get that somewhat set up I sure will blog.
But thank you for writing this. It did give me and a lot of other members somewhere to start that are a few weeks into WA.
Reply
DavePage Premium
That's great but just remember, blogging also counts as content, so also gets ranked, therefore, could also generate traffic back to your website which then in turn could convert and that's just by throwing a few thoughts down for 5 minutes. It's worth it!
Reply
Drgambrel Premium
Thanks. I will keep that in mind.

Thanks Dave for such a big insight toward the community success..i do believe too that if anyone put a lot of interest automatically there shall be success...this is the only platform to make your first $1,000,000,000 if one shall be optimistic and get focused.WA is the only community to be in the internet world.

I've done all of these at some point. Some people are really good about blogging which I enjoy reading; I'm more focused on writing for my website right now. At some point I hope to do more of that.

Great reminders. I especially appreciate the asking questions. I remember when I started here and asked questions, they were answered so quickly, I was amazed. Other places I had tried out I spent a lot of time on the phone trying to find answers to my questions. Not here, they are answered fast and thoroughly. Thanks for taking the time to make this tutorial. :)

Hi Dave, Could you tell me the benefits of following a big group say thousands of followers. How do I know those who don't follow me back?
Thanks Sadie
Reply
LouisaB Premium
Great question that I don't have an answer for.
Reply
DavePage Premium
Good question Sadie, I'm currently following 3600 other people within WA and I have 1100 following me back, by following people you're able to keep up with their individual successes and progress as well as taking an interest in their own niches, it works both ways.
Look at the blue network tab up top next to your Vegas counter. You'll see who you're following and who's following you. There will also be lots of people who are following you already before you're following them so it would be courtesy to return the favour
Also every time you write a community blog post, it's going out to your whole network. That's a lot of engagement
Reply
SadieChan Premium
Agreed Dave, I know I can easily follow up to few thousand members. However, many do not follow back. Some of them aren't active or they do not engagement with you.
I like to know if I can request for exchange email with members too. :)Sadie

Obviously, if people don't follow back, that's their choice, my stats are that around a 1/3 of who I follow, follow back, so maybe if everyone who read this then follows me, that might improve to 1/2, then I know this is paying off!
