I’ve already talked about being committed and managing your time – but here is the crunch item. Take Action. Oh I know it doesn’t sound very revolutionary, but you’d be surprised at the number of people who don’t take action. Don’t be one of them. These are the actions you need to take...

Follow instructions

The first thing you'll be directed to do is to start the Course: Online Entrepreneur Certification
- Getting Started Level 1 . There are 10 lessons to complete. If it tells you to watch a video - watch it. If you're asked to read a document or run through a tutorial - do so. This course has been carefully designed to show you what the basics of internet marketing are about.

Read thoroughly

It's tempting when you're under pressure to skim over information. Don't. Skim read first by all means but you'll still have to do some more thorough reading, Jot down questions as you go.

Stay focused

You'll probably be tempted to head over to the training area which is stocked full of great resources and it's a good idea for have a look at what's available. But remember you have limited time, so don't get distracted by trying to look at too many.

(If you want to glance at one my personal favourite for beginners is My Top 9 Tips for Internet Marketing Beginners - by @IveTriedThat)

Ask questions

If you don't understand something make sure you ask questions. You can do this in 4 places - Live Chat, Getting Started Classroom, your personal blog space and another member's blog space. My advice is don't ask long questions in the Live Chat - you may not get a very thorough answer. (Read the next page for more information)

Be organised

Start as you mean to go on - be organised. Keep notes of where you are and what you're doing. It'll help when you're asking questions because you'll be able to tell people what you've already done.

Stay motivated

Even in 7 days it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the amount of information there is. Don't let it get you down. It's up to you to stay motivated.

LOL. Being brief isn't my natural style - I have to work at it. Glad you enjoyed it.

WOW, Beverly! This is GREAT! And it hits all the nails squarely on their heads! I wish I had had this in my first DAY...There is so much here that, in the beginning, I ran from one thing to another, like the proverbial chicken with its head cut off. Thank you so so much! I'm copying all the "sayings"...

Thank you. I know how you feel. I was so utterly overwhelmed when I joined three years ago that I did nothing for more than a year!

Thanks Marie. I wrote because I know how often I've tried something for 7 days and missed out on the free trial period. In fact - I did it again only a couple of weeks ago - so I hope a few new members will find it useful.
