Recently, in one of my tutorials, I explained how to create a good persona that will aid your marketing strategy. I’m someone who believes in the power of understanding your customers first; it is the major factor in a successful marketing campaign that will bring profit.
Now the question is, how can you communicate with your ideal customers if you don’t know and understand them? You can’t communicate without knowing them. Because of this, I often advise that people should create a persona to aid their marketing campaign.
This will allow you to make data-driven decisions, give clarity to your marketing campaign, and also make communication more effective. After building a persona and creating a marketing campaign, what next? How do you know you are communicating with the right set of persons? Are they the kind of customers you want?
Why the Number of Your Followers Doesn’t Matter
When you just create your business and start using social media, it is very easy to fall into the error of thinking that the number of followers you have is all that matters. Growing your audience base on social media is very important and it shows that you are doing something right, but this is not all.
Having a huge audience on social media doesn’t guarantee that you also have a huge number of customers. Your followers have to be your ideal customers before you can convert them.
For example, if you have 10,000 followers on Instagram, that’s a huge number. Now let’s say 9000 of them are in the food industry and you work in a technology company; that’s not too good, right?
Of course, this shows you that the number of followers doesn’t matter, but rather the number of people who are willing to invest in your business or share it with others.
