Don’t Ever Say “Sign Up to Our Newsletter”
Some bloggers use this clause on their sign up forms and also use the same text next to their comment subscription checkbox.
When you ask people to sign up to your email newsletters, they come to their senses and ask you why? So, always state a good reason you are asking people to join your newsletters so you can grow your list successfully.
Add the Sign up Form to Your Thank You Page
It’s good to include the sign up form or just a link to the form right on your “Thank you page” – reason being that some people may receive error messages saying sometimes that the subscription was not successful.
If the thank you page has the link to the sign up form, a visitor can refill the form and resubmit the subscription form straightaway.
Create a Useful Offer for the Subscribers of Other Lists
This is a system of partnering with other bloggers in building their lists together.
If you are accepted to be a partner somewhere else, you can simply gain more followers to your own mailing list by creating a very useful offer to them out there.
I couldn't help to laugh out loud -- asking for their Mother's Maidenname! ;-) But yes, it is so super annoying when they ask for a surname, telephone number or even a city or country. I don't mind the name, but the rest is really not needed and I often complete the other fields with (what I imagine would be) equally annoying answers, like "Why do you need this?" or "Why do you want to know this info?"
Thank you very much for another very informative and comprehensive training, Israel! Bookmarked & Liked! ;-)
