I decided to go for the one with the most searches (417). In this instance, the actual competition doesn't matter since we aren't trying to rank a post, so I just picked the one with the highest search volume.

'what is the best way to earn money online'

I then put this into Google and...

Bingo!

A Quora question on the first page.

Why am I looking for a Quora question?

Quora is an 'ask - answer' type site, like Yahoo Answers. That means anyone can sign up for an account and leave an answer.

What this means is that for competitive search terms that you know you will be unlikely to rank for with a post, you can instead 'piggyback' the already ranked Quora question.

You get Page 1 traffic flowing through Quora and to your answer.

In your answer, you can leave a link to your site.

So you effectively use Quora as a crutch, directing the traffic right back to your site without even writing an article.

Tasks 0/2 completed
1. Find a relevant Page 1 Question
2. Keep looking...you might not find one at first

I have been a member of Quora for some time and yes I do get questions in my email inbox.
My question is I have never left an affiliate link on Quora so how do we do that without being warned off?
Could you show me rather than tell me?
As in screenshots.Thanks so much.

Hi Janet,
Affiliate links are a no-no on Quora. Never post an affiliate link- it could get you banned.
However, you can post links to your own sites safely.
When you are writing an answer, highlight the text you want to link from and click this button.

So does that mean I can put my website address in a link with the highlighted text?
I thought so but needed to confirm.
Thanks for replying and answering my blonde moment question.LOL

Yes that's right! As I said, make sure you DON'T include affiliate links, just links to your blog. Thanks!

This is great Benjamin. Well Done.
I never thought about Quora.
I am going to do the tasks shortly and jump on board. I am just finishing up a blog over 3,000 words and now about o step away from the screen for a while to refresh.
On one last note, we are lucky to have found WA. There is so much collective knowledge and talent within it's platform.

Thanks! Neil Patel has a great article about using Quora if you want to do some further reading; it’s one of the best sources of referrals out there. Thanks for the comment!
