How Many Articles Per Week?

When you first decide to engage a copywriter you may want to decide on trialing one article first. It makes sense to see how the system works on a writing platform or when you engage a freelancer for the first time. This will give you an opportunity to see the quality of the writing from your chosen person and see how much polishing it will take to publish that article on your website.

Keep in mind that no matter the guidelines that you give your writer they can never give you exactly what you have in your head. So you will be doing some adjusting of the content and adding internal links, external links, affiliate banners, and possibly graphs and pictures.

How long will it take me to edit?

This will depend on how much you change, correct and add. But I find it takes me about an hour and a half to read every word, add links and photos and maximize for SEO in the dashboard of my website for a 2000+ article. (I learn heaps from reading the articles written for me.)

It also depends on your typing speed and knowledge of SEO and work schedule. You will get faster with practice.

Filling out your website

To make it worth the money and effort you need to be utilizing a copywriter to best effect. Keep in mind that you want to be adding 2 x 2000+ articles and at least 2 x 1000+ articles per week. So decide which ones you will do yourself and which you will allocate to a copywriter.

You may reallocate your time to going back to some of your earliest articles and adding more text to grow that article to a pillar post of around 4000+ words. Google takes note of these authority articles and you should aim for about 4 on your website.

Wow, what a helpful resource for blog owners to decide on the way forward in the online world, Lily! Most blog owners don't realize that they need a copywriter at some stages to regularly provide useful content that will satisfy their readers' appetites. When they provide useful and engaging content, readers will spend quality time reading over and over again and this will help improve bounce rate.

Hi Yvonne,

He writes masses of quality content and promotes it on several social platforms and answers questions on Quora. It's all about being noticed by Google and the user experience which is important when people stay to read your content. The longer they stay the more it pushes your bounce rate down.

Sometimes it's beneficial if you can hire a professional to write for you. I haven't tried it myself, but then let me know how satisfied you were with professionals work.

All good tips Lil, and good to see you on the blog again.
There are also facebook groups, Pro Blogger is one off the top of my head.
Many are experienced and have samples of their work, prices are negotiable.
I use one every now and then.
The way I do it is, she writes the article, I add the links and photos. I also give her the title and keywords.
Often times we will discuss keywords to use as she has quite good knowledge of SEO.
They are out there and finding a good one is not too hard.

Many people rubbish Fiverr, but I have used it once or twice and was very pleased with the result I think it cost US$45.00.
The exchange rate was a lot kinder then.

A great post Lil,

Michael.

Lucky you, I met a writer in myLot (it`s an online chat platform) she knew nothing about writing but I felt I wanted to give her a chance.
Even when my blog was not making money, I still paid her( I don`t exactly enjoy writing)times when I felt the correction I need to do could have been much easier had I written the whole by myself.
After 5 years, she/he (I want to think it`s a she) got so careless I ended up waiting for 10 days to get an article and when the articles came, these were so low quality I felt sad.
I told her I`m sorry but I can`t accept the articles going forward. It made me feel sad to take away this income from her after all that time.
I`ve been to India on vacation so I know things are not easy there is you don`t have a good job.
I did this purely to help, she benefits and I do the same, I could have paid for fewer articles(but paid more for the work quality from Native English speaker)
Since I said I can no longer tolerate the below-average articles, she never contacted me to apologize or explain herself. Something that really hurt me.
Deciding to stay quiet and not say anything positive or negative after working together for over 5 years made me feel I was disrespected by her. but hey, I'm a big girl, I won`t cry I promise.

Once I found a lady on upwork, I don`t know how she convinced me to pay her upfront then she`ll do the work. I never got the work, after over 1 month without a single article, I reported her and upwork gave me my money back.

Hi Roamy, wow you have had a wild ride, and yes I do think she should have got back to you to apologize, and maybe you could have tried again.

One thing I did do to hopefully avoid your quality problems was I read and watched the copywriter's work that I had in mind, for 12 months. I wanted to know if we wrote in a similar way and if their own quality was maintained.

Perhaps going through a writer's platform might be safer as your money is held until you approve the article. This way you are protected.

Remember this is a business transaction and although I laud your motives both parties need to come to the party when you are working together.

Thanks for your comment and like.

I am having a similar problem right now with hire writers.
I had to catch up with my writing, so I requested 10 articles from them with keywords and instructions. I kept getting articles to approve, so I find out their writers are working on the same keyword at a time. I told their support to make sure no duplicate articles. They ignored me, so I told them if they don't take care of the problem, I am going to call my bank to deny the charges. It has been a month, and they never responded. I don't bother to download anything because I know they contain a lot of duplicates.
