How to Embed Videos in WordPress Blog Posts

For your information, there’s a great feature in WordPress sites called “Auto-embeds”. This feature makes WordPress receive the embed code automatically from the notable and well-used video hosting platforms such as Vimeo, YouTube, and the likes.

You have no other obligation on your own part than pasting the URL of the video you want to embed in your WordPress blog post into the Post Editor. What you just need to do is make sure you don’t hyperlink the video URL at all.

If you're embedding some videos using the Visual Editor, then the embed codes will automatically be fetched by WordPress and the videos displayed right in the Post Editor

Once you've saved the post by clicking on the "Save" button, click on the preview button to watch the video embedded in your WordPress blog post.

What do you mean by “don’t hyperlink the video URL?

When you embed a video, you don't need to add the link (hyperlink is just the long word for it) to the video like you would text words because the link to the video is already in the embedding code.
