Note that WordPress doesn't do auto embeds for so many white-listed video service providers, but for a few ones with names mentioned in the shortlist below.

This means if you are embedding videos into your WordPress website from other white-listed service providers outside WordPress, then you'll have to first generate embed codes from those platforms and simply paste them in your WordPress blog posts.

What do you mean by “don’t hyperlink the video URL?

When you embed a video, you don't need to add the link (hyperlink is just the long word for it) to the video like you would text words because the link to the video is already in the embedding code.
