A few more things ...

By default, you'll see an opened padlock next to the file name:


It means that the automatic file renaming feature is enabled. In other words: if you change the media title again, the plugin will automatically rename the file too. You can disable the auto-renaming feature by clicking (closing) the padlock icon:


Also, if you go to Meow Apps => Media Renamer, you can access the plugin configuration page in order to customize the plugin settings according to your needs:


There are several - very straightforward - options, but some of them are available only for PRO users.

Ok just tried it out and after "auto" changing about 20/30 went to look back at them and they had all gone back to auto and no green tick, also to change the file it says pro version only, what am I missing

You are trying to use the rename meta tab in the post editor. That's a PRO only feature, that's why I haven't included it in the tutorial. You need to use the Posts => All Posts list view as I showed in the tutorial.
