In this tutorial, you'll learn how to create a YouTube channel in 2020 and set it up correctly. Video is increasingly used by online companies and marketers to attract customers. Video bloggers (vloggers) make money via their content. Therefore, I thought it would be trendy to make step-by-step instructions on how even a newbie can create a YouTube channel.

YouTube Channel Benefits and Features

Quick creation! After going through this tutorial to the very end, you will find that the creation of YouTube channel takes a maximum of 5-10 minutes. It's free. You can create a channel on YouTube at no cost, but the creation of content requires you having a recording device and editing software.

Video is easier to read. Video content is much easier to consume than reading articles or books.

Many niches are out there on YouTube that you can tap into. It just seems that on YouTube there are videos about everything in the world.

Registering an Account on YouTube

  • To register on YouTube, log on to YouTube.com and in the upper right corner, click on the "Login" button.
  • On the tab that opens, select “Other options” as the input and click on “Create Account” in the menu that appears next.
  • Enter your registration data, which is required to create a new account. To safeguard your account, it is very important to indicate and confirm your real phone number to be sure that no one can hack your account.
  • In the end, you must confirm your agreement with the privacy policy and the terms of use of the service and click "Next" to proceed to the creation and configuration of your channel.

Wow, you made it so simple and easy to start a YouTube channel. I can't wait to start my own.
Questions:
1) Do I need a paid software for editing purpose or can I use the free once?
2) What is normally the length for the video?

thank you so much for the informative training. All the best to your future endeavors.

I’ve not yet recorded for YouTube but I have made videos for my own training courses on Udemy and I’ve tried different free editing softwares. They are often watermarked or freemium so you end up needing to upgrade to do everything you want to. I bought software in the end which is brilliant: easy to use, intuitive and edits multiple tracks of video and audio. You’ll waste time and effort and get frustrated going along the free route, my advice is to set your budget and buy something that will give you full functionality and a support team backing you if you get stuck.

Thank you Kate for your answer. If I may ask for your personal preference software or favorite, which one would it be?

I use Screenflow - its free to trial then you pay about $130 for it. I like it as its so easy to use but will produce a good finished item. I've also invested in a decent microphone, but I have found the video on my iPhone has been good enough although I may invest in a camera in the future.

1) I am personally using a couple of paid software for my youtube channel ( Adobe Premiere Pro, VideoScibe) but I am using it simply because the channel is generating money. Before that, I haven't invested any money in Softwares apart from a Canon t3i camera and a $15 microphone.

Before your channel starts generating some $ I highly don't recommend investing a lot of money in Softwares because, at the end of the day, the quality of your videos matters the most. I mean the message you're delivering to your audience is the one you should give more attention which is free but time-consuming.

On my channel, ''Armstrong Wil'' I share some of the free tools I use!

2)If you're planning to make money through Youtube Partner Program in the future, I highly recommend 10min or more per video. Because for videos with less than 10 min, you will have one ad in the beginning and one at the and. For 10min or more videos, you will have the option to place many ad backs within the video. Which means longer videos make more money than the short ones.

Hi Israel, thank you for this training. I am wanting to get started with YouTube very soon, so I needed this. For recording all I have is my iPhone, what editing software would I need? I really know nothing about it, and can I edit for free or do I need to pay? (Total newbie here).
Thank you.
