Let's Find The Snipping Tool

If you are using Windows 7, follow this procedure:

1/ Click on the Start Button at the bottom left of your screen.

2/ Click in the Search Bar field and type Snipping Tool.

This should appear above the Search Bar, see image icon in the screenshot taken at the start of this page.

3/ Click on the heading Snipping Tool and the image at the start of this page is what will appear.

The default setting is setup to create a Rectangular Shape of the part of the screen you want to capture. We'll cover these settings later.

If you are using Windows 8, follow this procedure:

1/ Hover your mouse cursor as far as you can, to the furthest bottom left corner, a square icon will appear - as seen in the image above, click on it.

2/ A screen similar to the one seen above will appear. Just start typing no need to click anywhere. Start typing Snipping Tool, it will appear at the top left of your screen.

3/ Once it appears, as in the image above, click on the Snipping Tool rectangle.

4/ It should now look like the image above. In order to access it quickly again, pin it to the taskbar while you have it open.

5/ To pin the Snipping Tool Icon to the taskbar, look at the icons at the bottom of your screen. Right mouse-click on the Snipping Tool Icon and then click on Pin (This Program) To Taskbar. Now you can access the Snipping Tool easily and quickly.

Now that we've Found The Snipping Tool, let's Find Out What Settings There Are.

That's interesting... not heard of that one. Is it an app, or online access only? Uhhh... I think you meant to type ScreenGrab?

Sorry about the typo. If you're using Firefox as your browser you can use the Add-On feature, or Google ScreenGrab and download it from there. Hope this helps.

You are just full of information aren't you?

Thank you for this. I have always wondered how people do this and whenever I have asked no one has wanted to tell me.
