When someone leaves a comment on your post it will usually be one of the following
- A question asking for clarity on a point you made
- A compliment on the post or your website
- A spam post with loads of affiliate links
- A reply to a comment left by another user or you
So far easy enough but if I was to ask you order these comments into best to least effective how would you do it?
For me the order would be
- A reply to a comment left by another user or you
- A question asking for clarity on a point you made
- A compliment on the post or your website
- A spam post with loads of affiliate links
The spam comment will need to be removed from our blog and we will consider that later on.
For the other three points lets consider their effectiveness and how to amend them to improve SEO on your website.

Hi Mark, very important post I think. I am a relative newbie at the online marketing game and didn't realize the importance of comments and backlinking from them at all. When leaving a comment in the future I will put that little bit more effort in. Also great tip about using different profiles for different niches etc. Really good stuff. Thanks for the tutorial.
Cheers

Hi Mark, thanks for sharing this tutorial.
Lol, glad you did cos all 3 comments for WA reviews which I made today, I was afraid to use my Bootcamp website and used my niche website instead. That clearly shows how confusion can arise from all the recent discussions going on about how to/not to leave comments.

Yeah- I see some comments that I wonder about - the same ones that really are of little value to either. Some I am sure are genuine- nothing more to add and sincerely thanking someone but others are robotic and meaningless just to show activity.
