These apart from spam will probably be the most common comments on your website.
Although they do add to the social markers on your website they are not much use to aid conversations and discussion on your post.
What is a Complimentary Comment?
Well its basically anything that says nice things about you or your post like the following.
"Hey nice post really enjoyed it"
"Great post"
"Wow love your writing style"
With these you are left with a problem on how to deal with them.
- Delete them?
- Answer back in the same way?
- Reply with an update to your blog post?
Most definitely do the 3rd option with one of these methods.
- You can elaborate on a point you made.
- You can drop in your main keyword again.
- You can add secondary keywords.
- You can open a discussion with the person by asking them a question.
This way you get to develop your post much further.
Example user leaves "Wow love your writing style" you can follow up with,
"Hey thanks for the comment!
I have been working on this blog for the past while and been learning all the time how to develop my writing skills.
I joined a training program that showed me the best way to deliver clear, crisp content to my readers that helps with interaction with my blog and gets click throughs on my links.
If you are interested you too can join the program here or check out my post on how to write quality content here.
All the best, Mark"
As you can see I used the comment left to put in a bit more SEO on content writing and followed up with 2 links to follow.
This is a good way to get referrals to Wealthy Affiliate even if your website is about "childrens toys" or something not Internet marketing based.

Lol, glad you did cos all 3 comments for WA reviews which I made today, I was afraid to use my Bootcamp website and used my niche website instead. That clearly shows how confusion can arise from all the recent discussions going on about how to/not to leave comments.
