Now that you have a way to filter out spam, the next thing to do is stay on top of it. Monitor your site and continually check your Google Analytics for new spam referral sites. These things pop up all of the time and new ones are on the prowl.
As soon as your site starts seeing spam from a referral site, go update hour htaccess file and block it.
