Basically, the plugin replaces the default simple search box with a more advanced, refined search system that will allow users to search by category, tag, custom taxonomy, post type, post date (!) or any combination of these. More than that, the search fields can be displayed as dropdowns, checkboxes, radio buttons or even multi-selects ...

Upon activation, you'll notice a new "Search & Filter" menu item in your Wordpress admin area. Clicking on it will take you to the plugin’s documentation page:


What does it mean? It means, that there are no settings to configure ...

The plugin comes with a shortcode that accepts different parameters to display various filtering options. You'll have to "customize" this shortcode according to your wishes, using the available arguments (parameters) presented on the above page. Relax, it's really not rocket science ... And of course, you can use your shortcode in any post, page, or text widget ...
