Last, we need to put our plugin to work!
All you have to do is first either create your page or click edit on the page you'd like to add posts to.
Be sure that the posts you want to show up are all tagged under one category or tag slug.
You can type whatever you want on the page itself and add the code wherever in the text area you want it to appear.
Just go to the "text" editor instead of the "visual" editor and place your cursor where you want the posts to appear.
Add this code:
[add_posts category="category-slug" tag="tag-slug" show="5" h="2" full="false" readmore="Read more link text" img="false"
Once you've pasted this code, edit it accordingly so that your posts are showing up the way you want them to.
I'd suggest only using either a category slug or a tag slug, not both.
You also have to have a "read more" break in your post for the "read more" function to work properly. If you have "read more" in the code with no page breaks in your original post, the whole post will show.
To prevent this from happening, either edit your post with page breaks or remove " readmore="Read more link text" " from the code.
On the other hand, as I see this plugin has not been updated for 2 years. here is the warning I see: "This plugin hasn’t been updated in over 2 years. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress."
So I would be careful with it.
