The Text link that you talk about when first log into Amazon I understand the tracking link or the affiliate link for different sites got that but this link that's attached to the home page lost me I don't have Site Stripe on my home page at all I am also having trouble adding an Image I have gone over and over the video tried it and go back to my page and it wont always give me the text or image option on the tabs so it just ends up a whole lot of text and no where on the page to change to image

Well you need Site Stripe - that's the first thing :) You need to go into your account settings to grab that. So from Amazon where you can view products etc look on the top right hand corner of your screen for "earnings" and click on it. You will probably need to log in again, then look on the top right hands side of the screen for your email address and click on the little down arrow on the right hand side of your email address. From the drop down menu choose "account settings"
Then click on the option "associates sitestripe options" which will be under the heading Account Information.

Then you will see an option to enable sitestripe and which link options you can enable :) Let me know if you get stuck! I would create a video for you but I can't right now. I will do one on Monday!

Hey thanks so much for giving me.all this info today I spent time applying to be an amazon associate and getting the call to confirm my account. Strange to me as well seeing i could get links without going through a sign up process. By doing this I am hoping I am going to be able to operate the account in a much simply way along with all of the above tips. Keep on keeping on not giving up. Thanks much for your help

Hello Lynn,
Wonderful video thanks so much for the information, question what do you have to do to become an associate of amazon.

It says I don't The e-mail/mobile number you are using is not connected to an Associates account. If the account was previously connected, please check your email inbox as the account may have been closed. Contact us with any questions. I never had an account, so what do you do? Thanks for any feed back.

Hi Cynthia

You may have an amazon account for being a buyer - it is basically the same account. So log into your account and apply to be an affiliate. Make sure you have some website traffic because you have I think 3 months to make sales from the time you apply or your account gets canceled.

If you don't have an account with them maybe just contact them and try to sort it out, I wouldn't have a clue what the issue is.

Hi just jumping in on your comment about you not signing up until you ate finished your site, is that because they give you 180 days to make sales or they deactivate you.? That's my concern now

Hello Lynne
I enjoyed learning how to add images from Amazon properly, I have been a bad boy and doing it the improperly way but lucky Amazon did not catch me.

I was wondering is there any way to edit your tracking links, I have some old tracking links I would like to delete but I have not been able to figure out how to do it?

Thank You Again

Jeff

I'm glad to help you with that Jeff - get those changed before Amazon notices! Old tracking links? Do you mean tracking codes?
Reply
celiacman Premium
Hello Lynne
Maybe they are tracking codes, you did a training not long ago showing how to make them and I have some made which are not needed and I don't know if I need to delete them or not?

I have a store on my websites and one is with Amazon products, but it is with the store front theme and woo commerce and the product image I had to right click and save to my computer to use because you can't use code and that was what the tutorial told me to do but it sounded like I am not allowed to do that from your training so how can I add product images without using code for my Amazon products?

I know I am asking a lot from you,
Jeff

Hi Jeff

I am not familiar with how to add images for a woocommerce store. I thought that the best way to do that was through using a plugin? I'm not the best person to ask when it comes to that though!

I've just had a look at the tracking codes and I can't see how to delete or edit them so I think once they are there they can't be deleted or edited?

Hello Lynne
The Woo Commerce Product image is much like your post image when writing your posts, but I can't add my product image in code I need to be able to add it from my computer images or my media library unless you know a way around this?

The Woo Commerce tutorial suggests copy and saving your product images from Amazon or doing a screenshot, I don't know if a screenshot is allowed by Amazon or not?

Maybe I will have to just use a generic image to represent the product, that is the only thing I have been able to come up with so far.

So I have twenty products in my gift shop with Amazon product images,

Jeff

Yes I am familiar with Woocommerce - I had an online store of my own selling my own products... I just don't know how you would go about it since downloading the images from Amazon and I am sure also taking a screenshot is against their terms....

Maybe post a blog about it and ask someone that has experience with this to give you some guidance?

Everyone I talk to with a Woo Commerce store are doing the same thing as I am saving images from Amazon for their product image. That is what the Woo Commerce tutorial instructs you to do, but they suggest using a screenshot but I don't see how that is any different.

Amazon told me the can't give me permission because the images belong to the companies not them, I will figure something out.

What a fix! Has Amazon told you what you can do?
Reply
celiacman Premium
Amazon only told me they can not give me permission to use the images
of their products because they don't own the images.

Maybe I can find generic images of similar products on pixabay or google to represent
my product on each page?

Jeff

I'm really not sure that is the way to go, it would be misleading since you won't be able to find an exact image of the product.

Are these going to count as too many affiliate links ? I’m struggling with this because everyone says not too add too many affiliate links but if you are doing a top 10 post and want to show each product how to you not get penalized for having 10 affiliate links? It seems silly to do a top 10 and not have links to all 10 products
Reply
Robert-A Premium
No problem having 10 links but you MUST have a reasonable word count on the page or you would be penalized by google.

You could get away with about 200 words per product description but that is going to end up as a 2,000 word post.
Could you manage that?

Thank you, it was making my hurt honestly and yes I can do that, I am pretty sure i am at least 200 words per as is and I am not done adding some of the little things i want to go back and do but i was getting discouraged with the lay out thinking I could only have 2 links so thanks again

No probs Christina, but remember no less than 200 words per product description/review.
Onwards and upwards and have a great Friday.

Yes , thanks so much and you too . I am going through them all this week to triple check before I start adding affiliate links ... I am already getting traffic and I sure don’t want to mess that up but at the same time I need pictures and this both adds the pics I need and lays the ground work to make money .

You will get there in the end but take it easy.

Well to be honest I was wasn’t expecting to put affiliate links on it so soon , thought I would take at least 3 months to build the content up but I also wasn’t expecting google to start indexing things and for me to have traffic so quick ( I learned how to stop that next time) but as it stands it’s a beautiful organized list in a niche that severely lacked organization ( I know because I love it and it’s been frustrating me for years ) and it’s sitting there with no pictures and no links to show/ buy the product which honestly would I irritate me in the other end . If you know of anyt other way to fix that issue please let me know because I’m super worried about putting affiliates on it so soon but I can’t find specific product pictures anywhere . These are my product pages they need pics and links .... after I get the first 10 up I plan on doing at least 50 articles with no affiliate links , just linking those articles ....

what pics/images do you need?
I will probs be able to point you in the right direction and there are lots of sites with free images and in fact I published a blog on sources a while ago.

They are specific types of games ..... all I have managed to find is generic images and that doesn’t work at all . I need the image to match the product .

Hi Lynne:

Thank you for this.

For a couple months now I have been struggling to find how to link Amazon images. Many have tried to help but to no avail. Your training is the first I really understand and the first to work!

I must say that when I am placing the code in the text area, I get very nervous. What happens if I put the code for the image in the wrong place?

Thank you!
Reply
LynneHuy Premium
Then you will see its in the wrong place - delete it and try again. It does take some practice to understand what you are looking at when you are looking at code but it gets easier with time.
