There are many ways to add Amazon link and ads to your Wordpress posts and pages. This video will walk you through a few of them, my personal favorite being the custom Amazon Native Ads which is what I mostly make use of on my websites.

Hi again, Lynne
I thought I got your training on adding Amazon banner to my post? So far I have not been successful; all I get are the "2 small squares". I must be doing something wrong.
I saw those two small squares in your video. I thought 'updating' or refreshing the page would bring out the actual image. No, I did not get that. The following is the process I use:
From Amazon Linking page, copy the HTML; back to the edit page of the post; mark a position to place the HTML; click the text/code editor; paste the HTML; Update. Is any step missing?

Sorry to bother you.
Thanks for you time.

Have you looked at your page on the front end? When you are looking at the backend of your website it often looks strange!

I wish you had given me more clarity to understand what you are saying. Anyway, thanks.

Are you looking at your post while in your Wordpress dashboard or are you looking at your post on the front of your website where your visitors see it?

Hi LynneHuy
You would not know how much run around I have done or how many questions I have asked, all about how to add links, banners, Native ads.
I just stumbled on your video. It came as a breath of fresh air. I wish I could see you in person and shake your hands for your help.
Thanks very much.

Lynne thank you, I think I have a grasp on this now and definitely shall go back and try this native
Stuff. I have been using the single links , you know, where they sit solitary on the left hand side, but four in a row is great! Looks so much more professional.
Can you help me out with understanding A-Win, do you use them?

Hi Michele - I am so glad this was helpful. I love using different types of ads and links in different places. I think it really helps to switch it up a bit :)

A-win? I've never even heard of it until now. Sorry!

That’s OK
I have now used native adds now on my site because of your tutorial!
So thanks so much!
A-win to me seems hard to navigate, am I just dumb!?
They are an Affiliate Company where publishers hook up to merchants, the middle man I guess
I have become an affiliate of Twinings and Whittard’s and A-win handle the affiliate side.
But I cannot get my head around coding and banners and I love images on my site, to me visuals sell! Do you think I can figure it!. No
Anyway thank you so much, I shall get there in the end
Best wishes
Michele

I've joined a number of affiliate companies that manage the affiliate side of things for a number of companies but I don't enjoy that. I find the websites hard to navigate and finding my links and marketing materials is usually a nightmare. I am not familiar with A-win and I am not keen to take a look either! Although I love Twinings - you mean the tea right?

Yes, thanks Lynne, I’m glad I’m not alone with navigating these companies, thanks for the feed back

Hey Lynne, I just did your Amazon Ads training; superb! Definitely everything I expect from Amazon and training here. I have one minor concern. As I was doing your training, following it bit by bit, I did the four items but only three show up on my page, essentially; the same thing happened at the bottom of my page when I did it there. What did I do wrong if anything, I followed your training to the tee

Also, would you prefer this over advertising an amazon product via widgets on Wordpress, do you think this is better and a more effective way to get attention from your audience as far product advertising?

Go there and see what I mean.

Thanks,

R.J.

I don't think you've done anything wrong, it may just be how it shows up on your website. I've also at times only had 3 and I'm not sure why. It looks great though!

Yes I much prefer adding links, Amazon product images and custom ads to my posts rather than adding in widgets. It will be much more effective in my opinion.

Awesome Lynne, I'll do that from now on. One last question, should the items pertain to my post or should it be a little bit of everything? For example, let's say I do a post on a video game, I made a custom ad about that video game, a PS3 controller and 2 other random video game items; is that okay or what do you think?
Reply
LynneHuy Premium
I would mostly keep it quite closely related to the post :) That is what I do.

Cool. Thanks Lynne. Great training! I have one other question, should I put Amazon ads throughout my post like you did in the training in my next post?
Reply
LynneHuy Premium
You can if you like. I like to just add a few where relevant. Some posts I have no ads though. It's good to mix it up.

Your training is excellent!
I am in awe. How long did it take you to learn all of this stuff and build your website? I was selling on amazon before this and am just about to add a new product there but I am finding this learning curve way steeper. I was wondering about page posts. I have about 7 now and only 2 have been indexed. Does that mean that I should go over them again and tweak the keywords?
Thanks again so much Lynne. I really appreciate the help.

I launched that website in 2012 but as an online baby store :) I had a huge learning curve too. I stumbled across WA in June 2015 because I was still struggling to figure out how to work my website properly. From the moment I found WA everything fell into place and I just sucked up the content. I would watch training videos till 3am every night LOL. By February 2016 I realized I didn't need any products or any of the hassle and expense that went with that so I just shut my store and went for it to blog full time. Best move I ever made!

Your website is still quite new then? I would not go back now and change anything with your posts. I would keep learning and keep adding new content. Implement your new skills on the new posts you publish. Yes at some stage come back and edit your old posts but wait until you have a decent amount of content on your website - at this stage it is more important to keep up with publishing.

Have you set up Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools yet? You need to submit a site map to Google through Webmaster Tools as well as submit your new content to Google. This will help Google to index your content quicker.

I was actually wanting to publish training on those exact topics next.... so let me know I can try and have that up soon.

That's an encouraging story. I am doing the amazon thing because my daughter who is now 15 is an artist and a published author. She created a calendar last year and choose amazon for her selling platform. I learned how to get ranked on the first page and it was an amazing experience. Her 3rd book will be coming out and I will use what I have learned to send it to the top of an amazon search as well! In the mean time, I am trying to learn all of this. I spend every spare minute on wa as well. I work more than full time but I am totally committed to doing this. I have not done the google analytics thing yet. I would like to watch every single training that you have done and I will. I was just trying to bookmark you on WA so I can find you!

Hello Lynn! Thank you for the video. It's great! I added a banner to my site but I'm having trouble adding a product link. I copy and paste the product link and I put it in my custom html and save it, but it just shows up as the code and not the product widget. Can you please help me with this? Thank you.

I would add your banner code to your sidedar but as for the products you add those to your posts as shown in this video. Maybe give that a go?
