Let's answer this question right now : What is a Favicon / Site icon?

Favicon or Site icon are the same things. It is the small logo you see on the left of your page name, on top of your browser :

The word "Favicon" comes from the contraction of "Favorite icon". You can see this icon as the logo of your website.

The purpose of this icon is to give a better standing to your website. Instead of using the default Wordpress/Sitrubix favicon, you can add your own one so visitors will see your website as a serious website.

**For the rest of this training, I will use Favicon only

What about Themes that may not support Favicon? May want to include other options setttings>customize, plugin or html alternative options

You can use a favicon regardless of theme. You don't have to use a plugin for it
