3- Click on Site Identity

4- In this tab, you will see "Site Icon" section at the bottom. Click on "Select Image"

What about Themes that may not support Favicon? May want to include other options setttings>customize, plugin or html alternative options

You can use a favicon regardless of theme. You don't have to use a plugin for it
