Working Online Is Addictive
With so much to learn and do here at Wealthy Affiliate (WA), it is easy to get carried away. If you are one of the lucky ones and you have found your passion in your niche then you can easily become addicted doing what you love.
That means you will probably be burning the midnight oil and rising to a new day earlier than the sun!
Before you know it, you have slipped into a "catch sleep any time" routine and your mind and body have no expectations. They are just thankful for whatever you give them, whenever you do.
That is far from satisfactory.
Sleep is, by far, the most critical need your body has, after water and air. Without adequate sleep the body loses its ability to rejuvenate itself, repair damage, cleanse the mind, remove toxins and rest the organs.
With chronic sleep deprivation illnesses such as:
- diabetes
- depression
- obesity
- heart disease and stroke
- high blood pressure
- lowered immune system
start to show themselves and can become severe.
Establish A Sleep Routine
This may be easier said than done, but it is imperative that you do.
Set yourself a cut off time and stick to it. Try your best to get in 7-9 hours of solid rest. Some of you may be able to work with fewer hours. You will know best.
Even if you put in some extra hours periodically do not make this a habit.
In the same way, set your body cycle to rise at the same time each day. This will help your body organise all the porcesses that it has to go through and do so consistenly.
It will make a difference to the way that you function.
Instead of fighting your body´s natural routines, adjust and get in sync with your own body´s rythm. The benfits from small changes in routine, like the ones you describe, is quite big. I know from own experience.
