2 - Decide on Which Format to Use
Much like text content, live stream videos can assume different types of formats. The goal of your live stream will be the main decider of the format to use for your video. There are other factors like the broadcasting platform and a particular audience.
Some of the obvious live stream video formats include interviews, product (or service) reviews, and how-to guides. Other formats to choose from are question-and-answer sessions and behind-the-scenes videos.
The right choice of format will help you maximize your impact and ensure that you get the best ROI on your live stream.
3 - Choose an Appropriate Platform
There are so many platforms you can choose to broadcast your live stream video. They are all appropriate as long as they suit the particular audience you are trying to reach. In other words, each of those broadcast platforms has their strengths and weaknesses.
You can choose to broadcast on Facebook, Periscope, Twitter, or other platforms that are not social media. Again, it depends on your live stream's purpose and the platform where your audiences are likely to congregate.
Facebook Live offers an easy-to-use interface for broadcasting to your network and also to their networks. The platform also gives you access to metrics that show you the reach and performance of your live stream.
However, Facebook may cause some distractions since there are thousands of others live-streaming their videos at any time.
Periscope is also a good platform that is well suited for the live streaming of videos. It's just that the platform does not offer the kind of reach that Facebook has in terms of participants.
You don't have to restrict your options to just these two platforms as there are others that will suit your goal.
