The biggest regret that many online marketers and traditional brick/mortar business owners have after they've been in business for awhile, is that they didn't start building a list right from the very start. Myself included.

When I started with marketing online, the concept of starting a list and growing it over time was just something that I couldn't wrap my head around. It sounded like a great idea, but I got hung up on the technical side of things. I just couldn't quite understand the mechanics of it all.

So this quick tutorial is meant to simply outline the mechanical end of things so that other people will be able to wrap their heads around the process.

In reality, it's a simple process. But people do get very stuck on implementing this simple process.

Tools Required

Other than your actual website/blog, you only need 2 tools to build a list.

1. An email autoresponder
   
2. A way to control delivery of the Opt-In Form on your site
   

Sounds simple, right?

It is, but here's where the problem starts. Most people don't have an understanding of the technical side of how to get those 2 things above, or even what they are. And within each of the above 2, there are a few other tasks that also need to be completed. So it gets confusing in terms of what should get done first.

You know, like the old question...."does the horse go before the cart, or the cart before the horse" !

Hopefully the next few pages of this tutorial will clear up some of the confusion for you.

And again, this is meant to be a very brief snapshot of the steps you need to take rather than a full training on specifically how to use all the tools that I talk about.
