Now that all the elements have been selected you go to "format" in your tool bar and select "Group" this will unite all the elements into one picture.

Once you have grouped...you can save the picture...see next slide

Not all the same tools are available in Paint.
I like using Paint when I need to get right down into pixel per pixel fixing and matching colors.
PowerPoint works on the whole picture for a quick and easy to use tool.
