I've always been intrigued by the personal aspects of Internet Marketing and working from home. To me, building a business is about much more than just completing training, and following through with work. You risk burning out, losing motivation, and can even ultimately give up Internet Marketing entirely. The health of your business does revolve largely around your mental health.

When you build your own business, you only really have yourself to answer to. You don't have a boss breathing down your neck, no looming deadlines, or the the possibility of getting fired. If you're not doing work though, you're likely not getting paid. That, in itself, should be motivation alone for most, but even tax deadlines and monthly bills can't motivate me sometimes.

This is a guide on how I find motivation to keep going and the little things I do to keep my productivity in check. I'm also going to challenge you with a little accountability program at the end of the guide.

Read through it all and comment with your own little productivity tips. Most importantly: complete my challenge. It will be one of the best things you can do for the health of both your business and your sanity.

This is totally awesome Steve, I love what I am doing but sometimes I just get stuck and don't know what to do. This post has gave me the motivation to keep going forward. I will try and get a goal list together and share it with everyone. I always enjoy reading all your posts.

This may have just been the push I needed to start writing more of my tasks down. For some reason I've kept personal, and business stuff in 2 separate areas, yet I am only one person who can only do so many things at once and will be following this up with a goals blog post of my own soon.

This is a great read Steve. Thank you. You reminded me of a post I made a long time ago where I did just this - challenge myself to complete a task and report on. What I will do is find it, bump it up and update my 2012 goals. I created it back in 09/10 if I recall but you have motivated me hold myself accountable once again within WA. I often take notes about what needs to be done and I agree it's a great way to complete tasks, especially if you're a scatter :)
