When leveraging Facebook for business, instead of sharing mundane details like the flavor of your latte of the day or which kid has the flu, you can share details about your business. For example, you might share a link to a recent blog post or a link to an industry article.

There was a time when you were able to set up a page, get 1,000 fans and reach those 1,000 people every single time you posted something.

Now, the Facebook "Algorithm" has changed that to the point where they only allow a few drops of people, let's say 100 out of 1,000 people, to see your post on your fan page. It has been long speculated that they did this to force page owners to pay in order to reach the rest of our fans.

This is even happening on people's regular profiles as well. The only difference is, you are still getting organic reach with your personal profile, it's just based on the level of engagement with the content you share with your friends and family and how many people are "interested" in that content.

Like Google, no one really understands "how" or "when" Facebook's algorithms are doing this. Most of the time it's very random...
