What is a Facebook Group?

A Facebook group is a group of individuals that are interested in a specific topic. Groups can be Public, Closed or Secret. Groups facilitate communication between members and also include some document sharing features, etc.

What is the difference between a Group and a Page?

A Facebook Group is created to add individual profiles to a discussion group on a specific topic. Groups do not have to be Public (and often aren't).

Facebook Pages are like individual profiles for public figures, businesses, organizations and other entities. Pages are, by default, public.

A detailed explanation of how to create, manage and use Facebook Groups will be coming in Part III of this Facebook Primer.
