Time to move those comments!

1. Select Plug-Ins, Add New, again.

2. Type in: MOVABLE COMMENTS in the search bar.

3. Select the plug-in: Tako Movable Comments

Note: 5 stars, 2,000 Active Installs...it was compatible with the previous 2 WP upgrades, and it does work just fine with our current version, but we just recently upgraded again not long before this tutorial was created and it isn't official yet.

4. Click the install button...there are no settings to mess with.

5. Next, select comments from the left dashboard menu which brings up the list of all your comments, site-wide. I've picked out a pair of comments that go together...the initial comment and my response. Naturally, I will be moving them both, together.

6. Mouse over right below each comment, so the options appear and select Edit. You will need to follow steps 6 & 7 for every comment you wish to move.

7. As each comment comes up on the Edit screen, scroll down just below the text edit box to where you see the Move Comments with Tako box.

There are 3 bullet points:

1. Tells you where that comment is currently located...static no action required.

2. Has a drop-down box asking you why type of post you will be moving this comment to...in most cases that will be a page or post.

3. Has a drop-down to select the specific post title you wish to move the comment to.

Once you have completed the above settings for each comment you want to migrate, then move to step 8.

8. Back at the main page for your comments, check the left hand box for each comment that is to be moved. Having set each comment individually in the 1-2-3 process above, we can now use a single bulk action to finish moving all of the comments that need moved, all at the same time.

9. Next, select Move Comments for the Bulk Action drop-down located near the top of the Comments section and then click the Apply button.

10. That's it! It is always a good idea to check the new home of your comments to make sure they are appearing as you want them to.

Congratulations! You have now moved your comments, including all the unique elements that make them so valuable for engagement and SEO!

***Be sure to deactivate both of these plug-ins when not in use, so they don't burden the speed of our website.***

Hope all of the information contained here has been helpful, thanks in advance for giving it a "like".

As Always, I'm following you all the way to success! :)

Well, I needed that! I have a section in my website where posts have to look similar in structure, this will do it. And I'm sure I'll be needing the comments trick in the future :)

I love the GIF!! I took liberty of stealing it. Lol. This is excellent training and in my early days of mentoring was a major issue at straightening out the website structure .

Thanks for great training, Chris!
