Edit Your Work

My writing professor used to tell the class, “If you don’t do the surgery, we will, but your mark will drop”. So edit and re-edit your piece before publishing. It’s wise to let your written piece “jell” for an hour or a day, then do a final edit. Carefully comb through your press release for any errors. Grammatical blunders are a no-no.

After you have done this several times, get another pair of eyes to look through it. They offer a fresh view to correct mistakes you may have overlooked, and offer an opinion on how to improve it. Criticism from others is good because it is never wrong, and they rarely judge your work harshly.

Thank you. I will try this. Do you put your affiliate link in the press release? Jim

OH yes.... we want them to visit, buy or at least tell a friend about what they have stumbled upon. :-) There are people in Fiverr that will write yours if this seems to be daunting, and Fivers work cheap. Get a price, try them out, see if you get a few sales for your ROI

Well, hmm, at first, I had never heard of a press release before today. Must be a writers jargon. Then, what the heck has to be written in it?

who, what, when, where, why. called the 5-w's. always hated writing them and never thought about it for a website - but it is really genius!

Everything in your new online business... written in the third person. I'm sure there are 'sample' press releases where you can follow the steps.

It does bring traffic because people are interested in being the "first" to hear about this new business. And... they pass the word -- that helps too.

I don't particularly like writing Press Releases, but force myself to do so. Fiverr may help me out this year -- so much going on and now the holidays ahead. They offer to write... I'll get some prices and decide. ;-)
