This step is likely not going to require much additional work to install the plugin as many of you already have and use it daily for your websites. It is a very good plugin and I use it for many of my eCommerce websites.

CAVEAT: There has been discussion within the Wealthy Affiliate membership that since the advent of the 3.0 version of Yoast, users have experienced drops in their rankings due to some of the ways Yoast 3.0 handles recommendations etc.

My advice would be to use All In One SEO as is provided when you build a site here through SiteRubix OR test the Yoast plugin prior to using it on all your websites. See for yourself and then make a decision as to which is better and which to use...

We have the advantage as premium members of being able to create 25 free websites, and this is a perfect example of how you can leverage this privelege to your advantage...A test site can be used in many other ways too...

In my personal experiences, I have not noticed a drop in rankings using Yoast, BUT I will say that it is also not a big consideration for us as we are using mostly paid traffic, social traffic, with a bit of organic traffic from blog posts...

Therefore I am not the best one to judge...Having said THAT, here is what Yoast does...

What Can Yoast Do To Help Your Sales Funnels?

You likely know some things about this tool, but specifically here are some things it can help you with for your sales pages:

1. You Can Optimize Every Sales Page for the Major Search Engines

The Yoast SEO plugin allows you to pick focus keywords (words you want your page to rank for) for search results.

You then run a check on your page contents and check whether you’re them enough (but not too much) and if they are in the right spots on your page.

2. Use the Text Link Counter Feature

Internal links (i\.e. between sales and upsell pages, etc.) are an important factor for SEO. They should be natural and be placed where it makes sense. This tool allows you to see quickly which pages on your site lack such links...

3. Suggestions For Internal Linking

Going through to add internal links can be a pain. This feature is available for the premium version but may be worth looking at in spite of the cost. It suggests links to related posts as you write! A timesaver!

4. Preview Your Pages

You get a look at what your page will look like for site visitors. This can be viewed in the mobile screen and desktop view! Handy.

Check for readability check: Suggests edits that ncrease the chance that people actually will read your page. It will suggest using short sentences and headings and more.

It will suggests exactly what to do based on scientific research on readability, such as the Flesch Reading Ease score tool.

5. Breadcrumb Management

You likely know just how messy these can get. Some posts may be listed in several categories and they can appear with different breadcrumbs, for example.

Yoast SEO solves that by setting a primary category for your page, and set the taxonomy for every page, so no duplicate content in Google's eyes...You set a canonical link (top) and your content always shows under the link you want!

6. Technical stuff in the background

Yoast SEO eases the search engine's robots job as they peruse/index your site. You can edit your robots, generate and update sitemaps files, and clean up your urls. You can also choose your SEO title and meta descriptions for all sales pages...

Bottom Line: A tool well worth having and using for your entire website, to include the sales funnels you set up on them!

The last plugin I am going to suggest for your sales funnels is coming on the next page of this tutorial. It is a social locker plugin, and can help you tap into the penchant these days for people to like and share interesting content with their friends on the social platforms...

One thing you cant do with sumo is connect to your existing email service if you are a free member
Reply

Yes, you may have to sign up for a free account with the ones they do connect with and then transfer the leads to your other account you have in place...I always look for a workaround...Will that work for you? : )

There are no free email services to sign up to through there you have to upgrade to do it, unless ive missed something

I just did some checking and you can download and add them leads manually to your service (I will change the training to reflect this)....My understanding was they did allow the connection but only with the Pro level service...Thanks for picking that up! Changing now! Dave : )

You betcha! Sorry about the autoresponder oversight, I did not realize that as a free member you have to export the leads...Cheers! Dave : )

This might help. I don't have signed up to an autoresponder because they all are not free but I have found last year this website and wrote a post about it here at WA.

This is spot-on what I need, Dave! I knew I needed a sales funnel when I joined WA to build the foundation for that funnel. I understand how powerful these funnels can be, as they almost sucked thousands of dollars out of me (MOBE and AWOL - good funnels, but bad deals IMHO...)

I've been building up my WA based funnel foundation here, and hovering on the brink of shelling out for ClickFunnels, so I'm totally ready for your training.

Many thanks for this - it is sorely needed here...

I am glad it will help you Steve and you are more than welcome!

We are getting ready for the end of year sales, and I just did not want to pay the 299 to ClickFunnels and be locked into what they dictate. This option is really much cheaper...

Do play with this and once you get the hang of it, you will see that it is just as fast. It is getting it set up that takes just a little time, but also not that long...

Let me know how it goes...

Cheers!

one more question, is Yoast better to use than the all in one SEO?
Reply
DaveSw Premium
Both are good from what I have seen. We use Yoast mostly on our Ecom websites especially, but I also use it on some IM sites. Both will work well...Cheers! Dave : )

Hi Dave. Great training. I am in the process if building a membership site curtesy of some training by Chris Scott. Your training will compliment my new site nicely. Thank you for the advice on using different plug ins. I had not heard of the chat bot plug ins before. This training will help me a lot. Thank you.

Good to hear and it will definitely save you a lot of money compared to the services out there. What you can build is every bit as good for zero dollars! Cheers! Dave : )
