As Google Search Console does for the Google search engine, Bing Webmaster Tools provides similar functionality for the Bing search engine.
You need both in your toolbox.
PART 1
Covers creating your Bing Webmaster Tools account.
Part 2 covers using your Bing Webmaster Tools account.
Introduction
Now that you’ve got Google Search Console (You have got GSC, haven’t you? If you haven’t, please go to https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/gsc-google-search-console-the-easy-wayand install it. Note that you will need Google Analytics as described in https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-to-set-up-and-use-google-analytics-part-1, https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-to-set-up-and-use-google-analytics-part-2and https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-to-set-up-and-use-google-analytics-part-3)
So, to summarize, the correct order of installation is
- Google Analytics
- Google Search Console
- Bing Webmaster Tools
This is because each installation is made much easier by utilizing information from the previous one.
The main usage I make of GSC is to submit new and edited website pages and posts in order to get them indexed more quickly on the Google search engine.
Bing Webmaster Tools provides the same service for the Bing search engine. Bing has just under 3% of the global search market but around 30% of the US market. This is significant and means that it’s really worthwhile to get indexed and ranked on Bing.
Especially as it’s typically easier to get a high rank on Bing than on Google.
Don't why I have done GA and GSC. and I am signed up for those. So I went back to WA training level 5, 9 of 10 to follow the coding version and can't find once in Theme editor the </head> bit before the 'body' in the script to add the meta tag coding.
Is there another way to do this, but the easy way? hope it makes sense. Thanks Phil.
