To wrap up my story, I'm working with Bree to bring in private advertisers. In the mean time, we signed up with a wedding-centric ad platform and replaced all of the ads today. That was about 6 hours ago. Bree has made more money in the past 6 hours with the new ad platform than she would have with 3-4 days of Adsense.
Honestly, being banned from Adsense was a blessing in disguise for Bree. If Google didn't cut her off, she would be still be earning just a little bit of money each day and wouldn't have that extra push to find private advertisers.
I highly suggest you take the time, experiment with other ways of generating ad revenue and see if you can diversify your income portfolio. Internet Marketing is very high-risk, high-reward. There are steps you can take to minimize your risk and ensure your business is protected.
You don't want to wake up one day to find out that your only source of income was entirely removed with no explanation as to why.
Feel free to share your Adsense stories below and let me know of any other ad networks that you have used and experienced.

We have always emphasized that using Adsense is working for pennies when you can be earning dollars. The reason that we have always stated this is because the people that are advertising (the Adsense) on your site are the actual people benefiting from your content as they are generating the sizable revenue chunks (the $).
The cool part is that when you own your own site, you have full control...you can do whatever you want. If you want to try Adsense, you can. If you want to promote Amazon products, you can. If you want to run relevant affiliate offers, that is an approach as well.
There are much better alternatives to Adsense so for those people out there that are frustrated by a suspension or feel they are earning pennies, try something else!
