1. Not defining a clear audience

One of themistakes people make is not defining a target audience. It is common among newbies. You cannot reach out to everybody. The thought of targeting everyone to increase your audience is a wrong mindset.

Audience targeting is not about the number of people you target, whether a large crowd or a small group of people. It is about focusing your attention on a group with unique demographics who is interested in your content.

Avoid targeting different categories with diverse forms of interest. Rather focus your energy on a set with similar interests. If your niche is focused on children's nutrition, your target audience should be parents between the ages of 20 and 50. It is the class of people that take care of children. Folks above this age range most like have their children grown and already parents too.

Your audience should have a similar range of desires; this you can easily meet if you rightly identify your audience.

2. Avoid Irrelevant Publishing content.

Do not waste your effort and time taking to create content; create relevant content. It is another reason you should mark out your audience. Irrespective of the time and effort you put in content creation, it will be a waste if you do not create the right content for the right audience.

Your audience is the ones to determine if your content is relevant or not. It must solve their problems if you continue to gain their readership. If your audience is interested in children's nutrition, writing about tech will not be a good idea.

A proper understanding of your audience will help create relevant content to solve the problem and encourage them to buy from you.
