WPClone

WPClone is a Wordpress plugin which should save both Content and Images. It can be be downloaded on your Wordpress site.

1) On your Wordpress Dashboard, scroll down to Plugins and click:

Click on Add New and you will come to the Plugins Page.

2) In the search area type WPClone as shown by the top arrow:

WpClone will appear at the top of the Plugins.

3) Click on Install Now. You will then be taken to the page where the plugin is installing:

3) When it has finished installing, which will be very quick, click on Activate Plugin.

Now when you look at your Dashboard you will see WPClone there.

4) Clicking on WPClone will bring you to the following page where you will be able to create your back-up:

Check that the blue circle is showing next to the Create Backup button, then click on the blue Create Backup tab.

5) The backup will not take long, and then you will get to the following page where you can see the URL of the back file you have created.

Copy that link and store it on your computer. Again, it is a very good idea to create a WPClone folder to store your WPClone backups. Wordpress does occasionally do strange things, but if by some unfortunate chance your site should disappear, then you will always have your back-up and will be able to restore it.

6) If you click anywhere else on your Dashboard, and then click on WCClone again, you will be able to see all the back-ups that you have created:

When you have a number of them, it really is not necessary to keep more than about six of the latest ones, so delete the older ones that you do not want.

7) When you have finished using WCClone, go to your Plugins page and de-activate it. This is important for the welfare of your site.

Your backups will still be there next time you re-activate it!
