Even though Google should never be used to find the accurate results of a keywords true competition, does not mean that it should not be used to find quality keywords. Google can definitely help you to find keywords in your niche and can especially help you to find LSI keywords. LSI, Latent Semantic Indexing, are the type of keywords that Google loves to see in our content.

You may have heard people use the term "keyword rich post" when talking about content. This does not mean using your target keyword more than the two times it should be mentioned in your content. A keyword rich post has your targeted keyword mentioned once or twice in your content and the other keywords can be LSI, which are basically synonyms.

In the above image I am using the same keyword, Make Money Online Fast from the previous page. If you were to type your niche or in this case a keyword into Google, when you scroll down to the bottom of the page Google gives you related searches. These are top quality keywords and/or LSI keywords. All of them, except one, have a QSR of 186 or less, with three being low hanging fruit.

In the above image I did a search for another kind of niche, Natural Diabetes Cures. Look at the related keywords Google gave me. You can do this with any niche to find possible keywords in Google or finding LSI keywords to your targeted keyword. Though not all will be keywords with high searches and low QSRs, they will still be keywords to consider. Just type them into a keyword tool and see what their QSR is.

Great tutorial as always! But regarding LSI keywords, using them won't be against the rule of 1 keyword/1 post?

Thank you.

No, using LSI keywords will not go against the rule of one keyword per post because they are synonyms of the target keyword.

Example, if your target keyword was Samsonite Carry-On Luggage your LSI keywords could be...

Travel Bag
Hard Shell Case
Airline Carry On
Backpack
Rolling Luggage

Google uses LSI keywords the same way they do your target keyword, to know what your content is about without you having to repeat your target keyword more than twice.

Thanks Rob, I take your word for it :)
I think LSI keywords would come naturally within a well-structured and thorough content anyway, but it's wise to keep an eye on them.
It's my understanding that focus keyword should be in the title and somewhere in the first paragraph (or last?) and that would be it.

That is correct. This is why you always hear Kyle, myself and others say that the target keyword should be in the title and in the first paragraph. After that just write naturally.

When you naturally write out your content, and being aware not to mention your target keyword beyond the first paragraph, your content will "naturally" contain LSI keywords.
