What’s Not Changing?
Although the new three signals will be added to the existing four-page experience signals, the factors that affect page ranking hasn’t changed.
They are still:
- Mobile Friendliness
Does your page fit in well on mobile phones? Can the content adapt well to a mobile phone setting?
- Safe Browsing
Is there any malware or virus or deceptive acts present on your website? Is there a risk to your web security? Note that your page should be safe for browsing so that hackers do not exploit visitors using your site.
- Secure Connection
Are your pages secured with HTTPS?
- No Obstruction to Content
Do you use pop-ups or other forms of content that block your content from visitors?
So in May 2021, when the three signals of Page Experience will come out, all together, it will be seven factors that will determine the search rank in the Page Experience section.
Note that Page Experience is just a component of the PageRank algorithm. Other components such as authority, popularity, and relevance also affect the search rank. But with the new update made to the Page Experience, it will be carrying more weight, as a factor, than the others within the Algorithm.
