You can't win alone!
Today, the 25th of March 2021, we celebrate the beginning of many years of fight for freedom, the same day in 1821, the greek revolution has started.
The victory wouldn't have been possible without the help of other countries. The greek army started to lose faith but the support of others gave them hopes.
How did Greece win?
Most of Greece was under the Ottoman Turks' domination for about 400 years before that date. Greece needed to gain its independence.
The revolution which was supposed to be the 25th of march was actually anticipated due to some leaks in the army. The battle against the Ottomans was heading to a defeat as the Egyptians joined the Turkish army. Greeks almost gave up in 1826.
That is when Britain, Russian and French, decided to send the Navy to rescue Greece in 1827. It was for those leaders a good strategic position for their future, (Bosphore and Black sea,...).
By 1830 Greece was declared an independent state, but history keeps on and the country will gain some more territories over the years.

Today, we are celebrating the 200 hundred years of the revolution of Greece which lead to its independence.
All the buildings are lightened with the blue and white colour and people are agitating the flag, today, from their balconies.
This year, unfortunately, it took a different turn because of the lockdown. All the center of Athens and other big cities were closed to the public to avoid a massive gathering.
The white sun was shining, but very chilly. The Evzones, guards of the Monument of the unknown, march with pride, while wreaths of flowers are disposed at the Monument. The bands are playing the different anthems- British, Russian, French, Cypriot, and Greek. Meanwhile, the Soprano, Anastasia Zannis, sings, acapella, the National anthems at the Akropolis.
The hosts are taking place on the stage at Syntagma (Constitution) square. The air force planes fly over the city. The banners are deployed. The horses are dancing on beat. The sounds of the heavy, chunky army boots echoed off the ground behind the military band.
The few guests clap their frozen hands, the ceremony is about to be over. People are just about to leave. The sky gets suddenly dark and light snow appeared!
The day is over, thanks to all.
This celebration day will not have happened without the help of other countries.
That example is for everyday life. " Unity makes strength " is a national motto for a few countries.
You will struggle to succeed if alone, but it will make the work easier if you get support from others.
