You can go either way. It will depend upon your pocketbook. Domains cost from $1 if they are on a discount or up to $15. You can earn money using both the Free siterubix one or a purchased domain.

However, if the domain you want to associate with your niche is available now you may want to consider in purchasing it, because it may not be available later. You will have to choose which way to go.

If you want my opinion and you can afford it, buy the domain. If your site does not perform the way you envisioned, you can cancel the domain after one year.

I agree with the comments below. Siterubix is the way to go when you're starting out... that's what I did. You'll get better rankings with a .com or .org however.

I like having my own. I thank Kyle & Carson for making the siterubix platform available and I use it for my test sites, but my two main sites are on my own domain.

siterubix.com is good for starting out, but if you want to take this to the next level, I highly recommend using a .com. Waaaaaay more options.
