Does anyone know of a free traffic counter to add to my website to get a feel of how many visits my site is getting?

Is there any process to adding people to my network. Or is it link with as many as possible. I see Kyle and Carson are followed by 600,000+ but only follow 150,000 odd.

I follow people everyday. Some will follow you and some may not.
The best thing I think you can do as mentioned, follow as many. People as you can. Set a goal to follow. (Example) follow 10. People a day. Or however many you can. As I said. Some will follow you back.

When I'm doing something that has something to do with the business, I usually follow those 10 people the has follow on the bottom of their pic. If someone who I'm not following would write a comment on my post. If someone gives me feedback on my website. If someone just start to follow you, I'll follow them back. Once your ranking goes up, then people will start to follow you rapidly. I'm at rank 106 and followed by 595 and probably following over 920 people. out of those 300 and something that is not following me, some will start following.
There probably is no "best" way. Within the WA community, take a look at the Ambassador community. Many of these folks provide lots of insight and help and are good to add to your network. Also, seek out "kindred spirits". Everyone at WA has a profile page. Check these out as you read WA blogs that interest you.
Every new member automatically follows Kyle and Carson, there is no strategy of following people here. I know some will follow every new premium member, others just follow back who follows them. I do know people get blocked for some time, who are "over active" in following and place comments on new members profiles, there is a limit to how many new members you can welcome, to protect them from getting overwhelmed.
I usually click on the follow me button on those who have commented on my posts. I also add and welcome those who are automatically assigned to me daily. I also invite those who spark my interest. I don't mine for them at random to swell my network. That appears senseless and is probably done to swell WA ranking.
