Don't Forget the ALT tags!!!
I was really surprised today when I checked my site stats on Wordpress! My site has been averaging about 17-20 organic hits per day, and maybe 30 or 40 on a really good day (I know that sounds pathetic right?)
But today, I already have over 50 visits and its still practically early. I actually smiled when I checked out where they came from :)
A while ago, I read a post here that talked about the importance of adding alt tags to your pictures and adding keywords to your picture descriptions. I didn't know if it would work, but I tried it with a few pictures on the site. All of my organic traffic today came from Yahoo image searches... of only one of those pictures!!! I can definitely see the potential in repeating these steps throughout my blog (and I have a lot of pictures)
I just wanted to share this with anyone that hasn't made alt tags and picture descriptions part of your SEO ritual.
Now, all I have to do is get those visitors to start clicking around on the site... Ouch

I usually remember to use alt image tags, but I never thought about yahoo and other image sites sending me traffic like you described. I will increase my efforts! Thanks!

Hi, how do you put ALT tag to your photos? Thanks!
Hi Pitin, you have the alt tag option to the right when you are adding a photo from your library. Same place as you add title to your photo, and pick the size you want and what to link it to (should link to none or a custom url) It's the box between "caption" and "description". See attached image. "alt tag" is the same as "alt text"
