No support at home
So a pond trying to start this business, I was very excited and all in it. My wife was iffy about the whole thing. She's never supportive of anything I do.
I have learned a lot since joining WA and love the step by step process. I know it takes time and money to build a business so I have been putting my money into the $49 a month for my premium membership here. I also pay to promote my site on Facebook.
As I struggle to get my site as I would like it, and write content I find myself getting less motivated to do the work.
My wife always seems to complain that I'm always on my computer, and when I tell her I'm working and trying to make money, she tells me I'm not going to make any money from my website.
Now I have been doing this for around six months and my site is growing. I'm at 50% trust on it. I could do better on putting more content but keeping focus is becoming difficult.
The process is very slow and time-consuming not to mention there are no funds coming from this.
Understanding it takes around a year to start making money I'm wondering if I should just not be a premium member at this time and wait till my site grows more.
Its hard when you don't have the support of your better half to continue to put money into something that is not producing any income.
Makes me sometimes wonder if it will produce anything.
Though I don't plan to give up sometimes I feel like my time may be better spent doing something else.

I wrote a post about this after I first joined - it’s depressing. You expect your partners/family’s support on starting a journey that is so important to you. But unfortunately for a lot of us it isn’t that way. There’s literally no interest. When I had a go at my partner for not taking an interest he just said “are you making any money yet?, thought it would have only taken about 6 weeks?” What?! What business takes 6-8 weeks to make money?
If it was the other way around I would be checking out his website regularly so proud of him. None of my family have interest either. But then I realised it doesn’t matter. It’s my private thing that I share with my WAmily here. It’s my journey not theirs. We are all here supporting you, and in awe of what you’re doing! We will celebrate with you and push you forward. Use us for what you need.
Yes I'm going to keep pushing and never give up and prove that this is going to work. Thank you.
Familiar story Tommy. If $49 is badly needed money in the house you might as well be a free member but do join social media sites and blogs on the various general topics and also of your niche to continue learning and taking action.
If its money you can spare, do stay around. You'll succeed unless you give up
If there is any way you can afford the one year membership think about paying it. You will save and a couple months End up being free. Now you have a one year commitment and the money is spent. Maybe this would give a little more motivation.
I believe you could do six month’s also and then you could sit back and look at what you accomplished.
Find people on WA that are successful and reach out to them. These are people making money not ambassadors. Ambassadors aren’t necessarily making money on hear.
I only been on here a couple months myself but I’ve been brainstorming with a mentor and it’s helpful and motivating.
WA is great to get you moving but a mentor can help you fine tune things faster.

Thanks kevin. Not able to drop a payment like that because unfortunately I live pay check to pay check. Things will work out though.
I’m telling you there are successful people on here that are willing to help you but you have to reach out to them
I know your pain. My wife is just now starting to notice my Facebook posts. She has never looked at my website. My 3 sons won't acknowledge my website at all. If I mention it they change the subject.
I have 3 daughter-in-laws that buy everything off of amazon but will definitely not go through my link to get there. Two of them have different last names so no ties would be noticed.
Don't know about you but I am bullheaded and the more they ignore me the more determined I get. Facebook friends pretty well stay as far away from me as they can get because I might mention a product or promotion.
It does get hard to focus on this with no family support. At this moment I couldn't even think about quitting WA actually. I have thought of it in the past and I just started in January but then I look at what someone else is going to charge me for hosting, site security and such. Then I realize how much money I would be losing and at the same time not getting any training.
I just concentrate on the support that I get here at Wealthy Affiliate and ignore them too. We have been married for 33 years and I have had a lot of failed business attempts in the past.
When this one works and it may be awhile they will finally decide that maybe there is some money in it after all.
Gota do what you gota do but I would seriously think about it for another month. We are on a fixed budget and I know how the bills pile up.

Tommy, life is full of obsticals, that's life. The only way to defeat these obsticals is to catapult yourself over them with positive words, positive thinking, no matter what others say, it matters what you say, it matters what you think. The word WORK, is just that, work, we don't get anywhere with anything without hard work. Don't give up on your dreams. Everyone has them even your better half has a dream. Ask her what it is and as you work toward yours, help her work towards her's. Use positive affirmations and even make conversations about it so that it becomes part of your daily life together. This way she'll feel like she's a part of your dream and your a part of her's. Have a good one, we're all rooting for you. Deborah
Thank you. I have done just that and have asked her to write some articles within my website as well but she's busy and she may or may not contribute. For the most part this is my thing and no matter what I will never give up.
