I'm Starting my Email List
I've had my website for over 9 months now and I'm getting ready to add my email
list. I did research for at least 6 months and I am starting to put it all
together.
An email list is important because the statistics say that 70 or 80% of your
visitors will never come back to your site. This is enough to make anyone start
a list because we want to keep the visitors as long as possible. A good way to
keep them is by starting a list.
Starting my List
I learned about emails and lists 2 years ago when I studied with an online
group that offered training for ebay selling. They offered affiliate training
too but I was just interested in selling on ebay. I had sold on ebay for years
but not as a pro, just odds & ends.
I learned about the benefits of building a list and some methods for composing
emails, but now that I am started actually doing it, it is harder than they
taught. There's a lot invloved in compiling a list and I wanted to do a good
job.
WA Email Training
The first thing I did at WA on emails was to watch all of Jay's trainings on
email list building. If you are interested in this training then we provide the
link down below:

Jay's training was informative but could only do so much because there really
is a lot to building a list. These are good trainings and everyone who builds a
list should view those trainings like a bootcamp. He shares a lot of good
information as well as adding some personal touch.
After Jay's training I read online a lot of articles on list building and the
mindset you need to be successful in compiling a list. I studied things like
approaches and reason or purpose for sending emails. It was stressed many ways
that you have to define your goals to be successful at it.
I decided that the main reasons I wanted to start a list were to reach out to
my audience, touch base and try to establish lasting relationships because we
want to stay in this for the long haul. I think many visitors can be friends
and I want to establish a good rapport with them.
Writing my Emails
After I had my goals made I had to decide how many emails to write, and what
order to present them in. After setting my goals I chose topics and methods to
present my stuff to my email list and set about to compose the emails.
As I wrote my emails I also researched email providers to manage my emails and
list. Jay covers those well so be sure to see his trainings.
I have written 9 emails to send in a drip campaign. They are informative but
not too long and I have tried to keep them bright and engaging. I didn't put
too much of a personal touch although that is recommended, but I feel like I
have started a brand so that is relayed in the emails.
I just about have installed the 9 emails in my provider and I also wrote a
small ebook to offer as an incentive for people to join my list. It is a good
little book and relates well to my niche.
Final Thoughts
I still have a ways to go to get the list built and the emails flowing but
adding an email list is a powerful boost to your business. It could be said
that it opens up a whole new dimension, and give you a lot more reach to get
your message out.

There is much to learn when it comes to list building and email marketing.
One of the main things I found was you need to decide why you are building your list. If you are covering more than one niche then you need to build a list for each niche you are covering.
