I wish I had more time to blog here! Too busy creating profits online.
When I joined Wealthy Affiliates, my intentions were good.
Having earned over one hundred million dollars, I had a lot to say to try and help others (if you want to learn about me, just Google my name, articles, podcast interviews, etc.).
What has happened over the last few months has been extraordinary.
First, I turned 60 eight days ago. It was a number I was not looking forward to, but it came and went, and I am still here enjoying life.
Second, I learned several new ways to generate leads that cost me nothing and have been a lot of fun learning and implementing. I am used to teaching others how to make money online, but it turns out this old dog can also learn some new tricks.
I have this one business I started in 2010 that has made me twenty million, easy. However, I'd never suggest it to anyone to emulate because it's high touch, requires a warehouse and employees, and I just spent the last three days putting together a vast, five-figure piece of equipment when I should have been on the Vegas strip eating five-star food and watching five-star entertainment. Such is the life of an entrepreneur.
Affiliate marketing is truly the way to make money online.
My only purpose in posting this minor opus is to encourage everyone to stay the course.
I was working on this particular lead generation method, and despite the fact that I never quit at anything, I was feeling the pressure on this one. Progress was slow. I was feeling out of my element. Others were publically stomping my progress with their own, and I was starting to question if I had made the right decision to learn this marketing method (very, very rare for me to do that).
So, I went and hired an expert and began to follow his lead and do what he told me, and WOW, what a difference that made. Sometimes the stuff that seems so easy to emulate can be very difficult without the secret sauce and understanding the nuances.
I am back on track now with this method and killing it with lead generation!
I know I'll never retire. If Warren Buffet, at 92, can still do his investing stuff, then making money online from my home office (no matter which of my homes around the world I am located in) is a piece of cake
Do not give up.
Ask for help when you need it.
I see so many get caught up in minutiae garbage that DOES NOT MATTER!
Remember, just because you are busy does not mean that you are making progress towards accomplishing your goals.
You can spend a year doing time-wasting stuff that will never result in revenue. Invest your time in ways that will generate revenue.
I know that I am not being helpful to someone when I answer a question they post about a topic that does not directly result in income generation, so I've stopped that. There are plenty of others out there who are also not making online profits and are more than happy to deep dive into that meaningless topic with someone.
Not trying to sound harsh, but these are why people don't make money online, quit, and then bad-mouth a program to anyone who will listen.
Every time you sit down at your computer to build your business, ask yourself, and be honest, is what I am doing super crucial to reaching my goals, or am I allowing myself to become distracted?
Stay focused.
Todd

Thank you for the new knowledge. This blog of yours was a refresher for me. I am writing posts and learning about this and every day I wonder if I am doing the right thing. I would like to have more followers on social networks, but I don't know how. I just publish articles on social networks and be active for a short time.
Thanks for sharing "your happenings".
Liked your last point and question here.
"Every time you sit down at your computer to build your business, ask yourself, and be honest, is what I am doing super crucial to reaching my goals, or am I allowing myself to become distracted?"
It most certainly is "stay focused".
Have a great week.
Very wise words, indeed, Todd! I agree to an extent, but I also love the human interaction, as well! It keeps the days exciting and worthwhile. While money is important, it is not the only thing of importance, especially when Governments take most of it anyway. It is the human element: conversations, helping, and receiving help from, and the friendships that are more valuable to me. After all, we will leave this world with what we came in with. Hopefully, when we are gone, we will have made a notable impression on many people we were fortunate enough to come in contact with!
That being said, Your success is to be highly commended, my friend! We can all learn something valuable from you!
Jeff
Reading about your success is really motivating. I agree. Just keeping on and learning leads to success.
Good morning Todd,
Thank you for your blog post, it's appreciated.
It's always good to hear a success story, it looks like you have done exceptionally well. I must admit the power and potential of the Internet never fails to amaze me!
I really like your closing paragraphs, it makes a lot of sense!
"I see so many get caught up in minutiae garbage that DOES NOT MATTER!"
I'm with you 100%, it's amazing how we can get caught up with things that don't really matter. It's also easy to feel like we are busy but not actually generating revenue! Unfortunately, working online probably has more distractions than any other job. However, and as you mention, it's important to focus on the things that bring in revenue.
Have a great day.
