Something Happened on the Way Back to My Computer.......
I went into the kitchen to refill my ever present cup with ice and diet Peach Snapple, and on my way back to my computer, I somehow tripped and knocked the glass table top out of the table, simultaneously hitting my head against the table and leaving a deep gash. I had the usual panic attack that I have when I get hurt (but after a little medication and 1/2 hour or so) I was able to reluctantly go to the hospital at my husband's nagging!
The head cut turned out to be deep but not big, only 4 stitches. What was really worrying me was the intense pain in my left shoulder, as that is where I landed when I fell.
Hope this doesn't gross anyone out too badly, but here' the damage.....
This cut is above my eye, for some reason when I uploaded it, the pic got rotated. I was holding my hand over my eye. My husband likes to record these things for posterity, unfortunately!
They think the shoulder is OK, but I will be icing it religiously over the next few days. Can't afford that kind of injury right now!

The pain the stiches the aftermath and then the Healing.I Hope you move that table some where, so this can't happen again. Its a great title, I poped right in on it. The good is, You will get alot of lookers. Back to my point there is always something good, that comes out of the bad things, that happen to us. We just have to find, what it is. Jeff. are so funny, my husband wanted to immediately throw the table away and I wouldn't let him. I think it was the placement that was the issue. And while I was upstairs trying to get myself together to go to the hospital, Ruby was growling at Ben, thinking he made me fall! What a night! Thanks for your warm wishes!

I'm so sorry this happen. Not your pretty face. ouch! I hope your okay. There is nothing scarier then falling on some glass. I'm so sorry this happen. I'm glad you went to the doctors and I hope and pray you feel better. Wish you the best.
Thanks so much. I was amazed as we went to the ED and we were out of there in an hour, that's got to be a record! I don't think it will leave much of a scar, most likely just a think line once it's all healed! Thanks for your thoughts and wishes.

Thanks, Dave. They asked me "how did you fall" and I wanted to say "how the he__ do I know?" I'm fine, the eye doesn't hurt at all.

You're welcome. This thing happens. I have had a few accidents last year and my best friend just had a fall while having a morning walk and yesterday her arm was operated. This kind of accident doesn't care how old one is.
Jenn, that is a very good point. The strange thing is that I'm one of those people who laugh when someone falls. I don't mean to, it just happens. And I used to laugh when I fell too until I broke my right arm in three places......then it moved from laughter to panic!

Sorry to hear about your accident and just wanted you to know that I empathize and commiserate....sorry about your pain....these unwanted things do happen, sometimes just when we think things are going well!

Thank you so much! I know it is funny how life gets in the way but everything happens for a reason! I don't know what that reason is yet, but maybe it will inspire me to a new niche, like how not to trip and cut your head in your living room!

I promise I will do that! One thing I can see as a benefit is that I got so wound up I haven't slept and I'm building a new page for my dog site. Got to look for the positive!
