Jay! Here is Another Question, Why Do Folks Leave and then Come Back to WA?

I see this all the time. A member quits for some reason and then comes back to WAU, sometimes over a year later. Why do they come back? They give a lot of reasons but it usually depends on why they left. That may be because they did not have the time required to put in to gain the benefits of their membership.

Another reason is that they got sucked in by the gurus who held them upside down and shook the money out of their pockets but did not help them make one thin dime.

Have you lost something and then said, "What did I do with that thing?"

A Story

You want it back because you realize that it had value that you are now looking for. Here is a story I heard in church in Iowa by a brilliant young lady attending Iowa State University, the valedictorian, in fact:

A man named Abdul was crossing the desert when he came up on an old man lying in the sand. He was dehydrated and starving and at night, freezing as the desert heat vanished into space.

He gave the man water, then food. Clothed him to protect him from the heat and cold and gave him a camel to get out of there. The man said he was attacked by bandits. He offered his rescuer some stones from a large bag. Abdul decided that the old fellow was deranged and took only a few of the stones. Then they parted.

The man went home, laid the stones on the table and went to bed, His wife was already sleeping and he crawled in bed beside her and fell to sleep.

In the morning, his wife an early riser, came running into the bedroom and shook him yelling, "Abdul! Where did you get these rubies?"

Abdul realized that they were rubies. He said, "I thought they were stones. I am glad I took a few, but I wish I had taken a lot more!

Take Advantage of Your Opportunities Here at WAU

OK, so I changed the story. I heard it about 25 years ago and I don't remember the details. But the point is that we don't always know what we have or could have. We need to take advantage of every opportunity in life that helps us achieve our goals.

I remember the first time I had to leave WA. It was lack of money. But I knew then I will return as soon as I had the funds to handle the membership fee and to be able to lease domain names. I will omit WA is a gem.I've watch it grow since 2009 when it had a lot of holes in the training. It was leaving me with more questions, but could not express my question to be understandable. And I'm very quickly getting in the same boat with funds.I may need another vacation from WA soon. but I have work to do on what I have in place.

it is much better now but continues to improve. J

When I started looking for work online I had braces on both my arms, lol! After being scammed and learning the hard way how to avoid scams online it didn't take long to recognize the gem I had been led to in WA! And that gem has so many rich facets! I am sure those who feel it is necessary to leave because of circumstances in life, if they have discovered the truth of the gem, they will return as soon as they are able! :)

Good Heavens, Christa! I didn't know that. Hope your arms are free now. J

Yes they are free now! :) They had both been broken in a car accident along with most of my ribcage. Then I had to have surgery on the one arm. But after about a year and a half I was released from physical therapy! Now I just continue to rebuild the stamina of my back!

God Bless!

Thank you!:)

Well said TJ!

Thank you, Jazz!

Right on, TJ.

I thank you!

I can relate to what Debbie says. I am curently out of work due to an injury, resources are short. I had surgery on my left shoulder last week, and using the keyboard is difacult. Still quitting doesn't seem to be the option. I see this as the best opportunity I have, and because of people like you and Kyle, I know that quitting now would be quiting just short of what I am looking for.

Windows had window voice recognition software if you want to try it. I use Dragon but you have to pay for that. Get better! John

Right on John, too often we overlook the obvious, I may be nearsighted but every day I spend at WA my sight is getting better and I see the jewels before me not the stones...this is home!

Great, Monte!

Your Right TJ sometimes life can get in the way of doing what we want to do. I found Kyles comment on the exit survey interesting.WA shows an exceptional interest in their members success, even those who leave. I tend to get excited about that level of support, and that is the greatest value I have found here. It can be a little hard to find with other opportunities.

Right on!

We offer people an exit survey when they do leave and a very high percentage of people acknowledge that they are going to come back and that they really do not want to leave (but money, life, or other issues can get in the way sometimes)

As we move forward and as we continue to improve WA, our plans are focused on the user experience here at Wealthy Affiliate, creating a more reactive and helpful environment, innovate on the tools/platform side of things, and at the end of the day push people to success they never thought they were capable of.

Because of this, I believe people will only continue to come back at higher numbers (currently 30-40%). Our mission does not stop, we don't rest, and the better we can make our experience here for folks, the more they will benefit from it, love it, and want to stick around (and come back).

That's great that you have an exit survey. Of course, how would I know that since I never left? lol But you guys do keep pushing ahead making things better. Another reason I'm still here. Thanks Kyle! John

Thanks TJ that's interesting about the people who leave and come back. There is value here in WA and that is what keeps me here. I guess some people have to take part in programs that have no value, to learn to miss what we have here

True enough but sometimes we have to back off and come back later. As Debbie points out below, sometimes it's a matter of resources, time and money. But some just don't get it, find that it is not a get rich scheme and leave. They will always be leaving before they get started. John

You always come up with these stories. :-) I think there's several reasons why people leave. Some realize they don't have the time it takes, some run out of money for the fees, some come in thinking that this won't require work and commitment, some want something that will make them rich quick, some have emergencies that pull them away.
This ISN'T a get rich quick scheme. It is a JOB. A real job that requires time yet flexible to work around most schedules. I was one of the people that quit and rejoined. Mine was time related. Too long hrs of work/commuting and weekends spent doing all the things required to prep me for work the next week. I really needed a male wife. LOL.
I'm really enjoying my time back but I've also found that aside from websites, this training and community has propelled me into other offline projects. As it turns out, there still is not enough time in the day to do everything I want to do. Sorry this answer is so long.....take care, John. ~Debbi

You are driven, Debbi. You will always work in that mode, pressing forward. So you take on more than you can chew. That is the way it has been for me for so many years. As you say, you are also propelled. You are always moving forward so you will always be successful. J
