Exciting News! I'll Be Lecturing Again!

I have an exciting update!
First, a little back story.
Since 2018, I was a lecturer for a university in Ireland, Dublin and a few local schools in Singapore. But, for the last few years, cancer put a brake on my teaching gigs.
All throughout my years of treatment and surgeries, the university and schools constantly kept in touch and asked me when I would be able to return to teach again.
Thankfully, I am now cancer free. I have a letter from my surgeon declaring that the cancer has been removed and I am now under surveillance. Meanwhile, I am fit to teach again.
I sent the letter to the university and schools to update them. Immediately, one of the local school's education managers called me! We arranged to meet tomorrow to further discuss class schedule for 2024.
From the university, the Overseas Academic Programme Director (in charge of courses in Asia, where I previously taught) asked me to write to the Overseas Programme Manager. He wanted me to update her and to mention that I am all right to teach again.
I did that and received an immediate reply. She didn't mention but I knew that the lecturer assignments for 2023/2024 have been filled. The university will most probably include me for 2025/2026.
But the Overseas Academic Programme Director did say that one may never know. There may be one or two classes not assigned yet. Or there may be last minute changes.
However it turns out, I am excited to teach again. I miss my students.

Another class where I taught, in Hong Kong campus. We had fun! 😄
Even though I was unwell for the past few years, they still wrote to me and told me they loved my teaching and found me inspiring. My students give me so much joy!
What's Ahead for 2024?
It looks like I will be back teaching again next year.
I will continue to do affiliate marketing. As such, I will continue to create content and promote affiliate products. The plans and strategies are already in place, as shared in another blog post - Returning to My Roots: A New Direction for My Websites (wealthyaffiliate.com)
I will also write my next book.
Sounds like a very busy and filled year, right?
I will be mindful and careful to not overwork. To have balance. To continue to be healthy. I will still continue to have morning walks and healthy diet.
One thing I learned during my fight with cancer is to not waste time. And if there is something you would like to do, then do it! But remember to be mindful and do things in moderation.

I know how lecturing brings so much fulfilment because I was a lecturer once. I know how excited you would be going back to your students. As you have rightly said, we should learn to do everything in moderation. Don't forget to strike a balance between work and home.

I too love teaching. I've had, some great students over the years, and many are now friends. And on-line, wow, I missed an upload date once, I was ill, within 12 hours I was inundated with questions and requests for the missing LearnElectrics video.
My philosophy...
Teach them to be as good as me, and then help them to be better than that.
