Your Christmas Presents per Amazon Drone?
This last week, Amazon's three year old implementation planning for delivery of packages per drone had it's first test run.
Well, uhhh, what's that noise? It's no bird this side of the T-Rex, and it's no plane, it's waaay too low......
Fast foreward 10 years:
"Hey, watch your head, that's MY package you're bonging!"
"Stay on the sidewalk, that's the Blue Flight Zone...."
Don't play baseball there, with that new baseball from the mall sport store!!"
Hmmmm.....
They're saying, the pilot commercial run exceeded their expectations of delivering packages within a 10- mile radius route within thirty minutes. And they're already making plans to improve that speed.
So many pros, so many cons.... And safety issues, traffic regulation....
I would like to invite your comments on this development, and how you see the prospect of a wide-scale use of delivery drones, what types of population density you'd see as problematic, and whether you think there are solutions to some of the ensuing traffic problems?
Another case for public debate and group thought here on our very own platform....
Have a wonderful Holiday Season, my friends, but don't expect your presents dropped in to your waiting hands quite yet, as 2016 still belongs to the "prototype" or "beta" years....
Cheers, my friends
Therese

Hmmm...so many potential problems living in a city like New York City with lots of apartment buildings. I wonder how they would handle that?
Could the be air collisions with aircrafts?
Already there are problems as they are used to send drugs and things to prisons.
Thanks for this info, Kav, this doesn't surprise me.
The illegal activities clash with the legal, no proper control of such spaces can be maintained.....
It's difficult enough, if everybody's playing by the rules, there's a whole layer of lower airspace that needs to be considered...
That's one of the major issues I see about it, Rick!
There'd be jobs created though, more Air Traffic Controllers!☺
What's going to keep happy trigger fingers from shooting them down, and taking the jewelry we just ordered.
Now that's a point, Don.
We have to consider that not everyone may be using this service the way it is intended, and some may see it as an opportunity to vent life's frustrations through sabotage.....
Thanks for commenting!☺
You too, my friend!
You think this would be a good idea, on a wide scale?
Do you live in a city or a rural area?
Thanks so much, Rebecca, couldn't resist writing this at this time of the year☺☺☺
That's, I firmly believe, one of the nicer things about living in a country where life itself is taken in stride.....
My respect for the people of Greece, coping with the problems imposed upon them by "global village" trends......
