This blog is where I will be logging the trainings I am completing here at Wealthy Affiliate and how I'm getting on with them.

Online Entrepreneur Certification - Getting Started - COMPLETE

I began this without a very clear idea of the niche I wanted to work in. I have so many interests that I fell into the trap of wanting to create a generalised website meeting a number of my passions. I created my first website: wellwomenunite.com. As the name suggests it is supposed to fall into the Health & Wellness category, but unfortunately my own wooly ideas have made it directionless.

Online Entrepreneur Certification - Level 2 - Up to Lesson 7

With too many distractions in my own life, and without a clear focus of what I wanted from my business I decided to stop at Lesson 7. My wellwomenunite.com will be picked up at a later date and I will focus in on the Health & Wellness niche, but only once I havea clear idea of what it is I want to achieve.

Once the decision to stop was made it became easier to see that the Bootcamp training would suit my needs more effectively.

Affiliate Bootcamp - Course 1 - COMPLETE

I decided to move onto the Bootcamp training as I realised that my greatest passion is in learning itself. This made the Bootcamp journey more desirable as while I am learning as much as I can about affiliate marketing, I can share the journey, and write about what I am gaining from my training experience here at WA. My target audience is budding entrepreneurs, especially those who value education but have realised that a University education isn't the best one for them.

I now have a rather good looking website up and running following this training. I have started the blogging process, have comments on a number of my pages and blog posts, and have been sharing it on various social platforms.

The best thing after completing this course is that I have a much firmer grasp of what I need to do to become a successful affiliate marketer. I also realise that this is a full-time commitment.

Affiliate Bootcamp - Course 2 - IN PROGRESS

I am beginning the editing process on my website and making a few significant changes to it as I begin to understand what it is I need to do more of, for example, write reviews. I have, up until now, been my worst enemy in regards to my affiliate marketing training. What I mean by this is that I have played the maverick a little too much, and rebelled from following the trainings spot on. Freedom is one of my top values, which is great most of the time, but it can have an adverse reaction to following guidelines. I love to do things my way. Now that I understand that, and also understand more about affiliate marketing thanks to Kyle's brilliant training, I can see that following the guidelines while injecting MY WAY into my content is the right way forward.

FREE Keywords & How to Find Keywords in WA Keyword Tool by boomergp08

This training was recommended to me by FHagstrom when I visited the Live Chat here at WA with a question about Keywords, so thanks Forest!

Although I understood the premise of keywords I still didn't get how to come up with useful ones to help me rank on Google. The training above really helped me with this. In fact, it is because I wanted to find this training again that I decided to write this blog. I wanted a home for all the trainings I have done, my reflections on them, and a quick way back to them. ;)

This training was super helpful in teaching me how to use the keyword tool here on the WA platform effectively. I highly recommend it for anyone who is still stuck with keywords.

I'm just about to dive into this training. It goes well with the Bootcamp Level 2 module which is all about Content, Keywords and Conversion.

Get the Edge by Tony Robbins

As well as the above trainings here at WA, I am also listening to an old training I have of Tony Robbins on my ipod - Get the Edge. This has got me to start my day differently with my power hour.

I begin with a daily walk/run every morning. I focus in on what I am grateful for. I focus on my breath and clear out toxins on a daily basis. I power up my energy by adding incantations to the rhythm of my walk/run. This is a brilliant addition to my affiliate marketing training as I know that I am still focusing on my health and wellbeing. Too long at the laptop isn't going to help my physiology

As well as this I am also using Tony's RPM model to keep myself on track.

R - Results - what are my goals? what do i want to achieve? - WHAT

P - Purpose - what's my big why? why am I doing what I'm doing? - WHY

M - Map - Massive Action Plan - How am I going to achieve my goals? - HOW

This is the training I am using to help me with my success/results mindset. I am planning to add MINDSET as a page on my website, as I believe it is a crucial component to creating a business of any kind. Moving from a 'Working for the Man' mindset, where you have been used to being paid for your time, to an 'Entrepreneurial' mindset where you are paid according to the value you provide is something that really interests me.

'Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert B. Cialdini, Ph.D.

This book has been on a number of recommended reading lists I have been given in relation to learning about marketing. I am currently on Chapter Two and already hooked. Cialdini is a very good writer. He comes across as a nice guy. He's in your corner and has your back. He details how animals and humans process the world by using automatic, stereotyped behaviours. He explains why we do this, but then also explains how these behaviours make us susceptible to manipulation. It is inbuilt, or learnt behaviours that happen without us thinking about. Absolutely fascinating read.
